I’ve been watching a lot of anime from different genres recently. But I’ve also noticed that when forecast for life is heavy, I open one of these and lose myself in the imaginary worlds. Zero angst!
Grab your cozy essentials, curl into a cushion and pick one.
In no particular order, these are my top 10:
1. Howl no Ugoku Shiro
Howl’s Moving Castle | Netflix

I always have this in my downloaded list ALL THE TIME! The visuals are very pretty especially around the landscapes and interesting things to see like Howl’s Castle rooms. The music is so in sync and the story of finding your true core was a great adventure.
2. Dragon, Ie wo Kau.
Dragon Goes House Hunting | Crunchyroll

Another fantasy comedy of a dragon house hunting with the demon king as his broker, while evading heroes & hunters, becoming a parent to a cutie and facing challenges of finding his perfect lair.
3. Kyuujitsu no Warumono-san
Mr. Villain’s Day Off | Crunchyroll

Cozy days with Mr Villain as he takes time off to visit the Pandas in the zoo and dreams of living with them. I love that even if you are working as an adult, you still have space to pursue things that you like, regardless of what anyone else thinks.
4. Ame to Kimi to
With You and the Rain | Crunchyroll

I wish I had a cute pet, a racoon-dog is welcome, one who is smart and totally gets me, comforts me and also knows how to get what he wants by writing on a notepad. Also, really good visuals around the seasonal changes.
5. Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu
The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today! | Crunchyroll

As someone who is a corporate employee, I wish I had a House cat who would look after me, take care of all the house work and also put me to bed.
6. Gokushufudou
The Way of Househusband | Netflix

Now, forget about a cat, the reality can also provide a converted house husband who does all the house work including the community work! Tsuda Ken as the VA and the MC persona looked kind of similar in my eyes,
7. Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii
Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku

It’s an office romance setup with 4 different nerds in the office. Though the romance is the central piece, I really enjoyed how being a hardcore nerd in a corporate setup was narrated.
8. Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi
Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill | Crunchyroll

Following a salaryman who knows how to cook well and gathers a bunch of powerful allies through his cooking and goes on an adventure while also meeting a dragon maniac in addition to others.
9. Kami no Niwatsuki Kusunoki-tei
Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods | Crunchyroll

I enjoyed the rural setup and the visuals of the anime - the way light has been played around in this anime is indescribable. It was also fun to see the Gods enjoying the different desserts - like if I do the same in real life, will I get more blessings?
10. Zatsu Tabi: That's Journey

When in a slump, go on an adventure. This was one of the anime which was truly fun with all the different adventures, sometimes solo, sometimes with a friend and sometimes with group.
